Tuan + Stephanie :: East Meets West

Today I did two weddings - for the same couple. We started off with a traditional Chinese wedding at the brides house. Tea ceremony, gifts, and a whole pig brought over by the grooms family. This is one of my favorites from the day.

After the huge traditional ceremony we headed off to the Plaza in Anaheim.

I think Stephanie liked her Badgley Mischkas more than her dress.

Stephanie had some great skin and eyes. I loved photographing her.

The bridesmaids were not too bad either.

Stephanie loves the pink & white.

OK, so what does a pink & white room for 700 people look like. Something like this.

Another of my favorites.

Portrait Season.

I have my last wedding of the year this weekend and I'm already starting to roll on the upcoming holiday portraits. Although I do portraits year round it does ramp up this time of the year. We offer both studio and location settings and have a huge list of products such as prints, albums holiday cards DVDs and gift certificates. We also have a unique vewing systm in our studio that will allow you to see what the artwork will look like as it hangs in your home. Cool!! Give me a call and let's set up a time for your session.

Here's one of my current client's holiday cards.

Sneak Peek....2 Weddings

Seems like the end of the year is ending in a whirlwind. Lots of weddings. Here are a couple of my smoking hot brides from the last 2 weeks. More to come...

CHILL OUT.....!!!

...at my new Salon? Actually I'm the silent partner and my wife is the head honcho. Cindy has been a hairstylist for almost 20 years now. After her last salon closed without warning, we decided it was time to do our own thing. We found an old salon that had just closed on 2nd St. in Belmont Shore and went to work. We completely gutted the space and after 8 long months she now has the salon of her dreams. So what's the name? CHILL Salon & Gallery. Definition - slang, Chill ; To relax and socialize among friends. perfect!! Not only is it a killer salon but an art gallery as well. The artwork and salon tends to lean towards the tropical with an emphasis on relaxation and client care. There are 4 stations and 2 Estheticians. Upstairs is a lounge with Wi-Fi access and we are the only salon downtown that has its own parking lot. Stop by if your in the area. Chill Salon & Gallery 5375 E. 2nd St. Long Beach tel. 562.433.4888

As you enter the salon..

The lounge upstairs..

The hairdryers hang from the ceiling and turn on when you pull them. Cool!!

We had a small (LARGE!!!!!) grand opening a few weeks back with around 250 people throughout the evening. Here's a few of the party people.

Cindy (2nd from left) and her crew.

So if you do need some styling, remember to stop by and .....

Ben + Priti

This wedding is from a few weeks back and I've been waiting to blog it till I could do it justice. Priti & Ben were married in a full blown Indian wedding that lasted many many hours. We started Out Friday afternoon for the Mehndi. Isn't this so cool looking.

One thing about Indian weddings. you better bring your dancing shoes, because everyone dances.. All night long. 4 different gusts got up throughout the night with coriagraphed dance routines.
Now for my favorite part. The couple shots.

Love this one. The Bride and Groom are framing it for their house.

Let's Travel

If you've been keeping up with my blog lately, you've noticed I've been on the road alot. Santa Barbara, San Francisco, New York, Utah, Rhode Island all for weddings. I still have Palm Springs, Purto Vallarta, London & Paris on the books before the years over. Whew!! Just because I live in Southern California, does not mean I only shoot Southern California weddings. When planning for the big day, the cost of an extra plane ticket usually is very minor in comparison to the overall expenses usually laid out for a wedding. I love shooting in new and unique venues. Whether you are planning a destination wedding or just happen to live somewhere besides SoCal, give me a call.

Here's an idea: Since you are probably going somewhere really cool for your honeymoon, how about you bring along your dress, his tuxedo,..... AND ME!! How great would it be to have wedding photos on the beach in Jamaica or Hawaii, maybe the streets of Paris or the hillsides of Greece. If I'm not available for your wedding date or even if I am, I will gladly meet you anywhere on the planet and give you some of the most amazing photos you could ever dream of. I look forward to hearing from you.
