Bernard + Anne
Last year the big date was 7.7.7 , this year it's 8.8.8 . Bernard and Anne were married at a private residence in Chino Hills on this lucky day. Big thanks to Heather from 24 Carrots for coordinating the big bash.
OK, So who owns a house with a front door like this. Crazy.
Loved the reception. 24 Carrot turned the tennis court into this fabulous dinning experience.
First time shooting the Skirball Cultural Center for me. I've done some fashion shoots there in the past but this is my first wedding. Very cool ceremony out in the courtyard with a beautiful reception. I knew we would have a spectacular night with Kimberley Bradford coordinating the day and flowers provided by nisie of Enchanted Florist. Lots of great shots this week. Here's a few that I liked.
Very cool wedding and I just love Gabrielle's style. The actual ceremony took place at Pepperdine University with the reception up in the Malibu hills at Rancho del Cielo. Tons of great ones today.
So many great shots today. Just seems like everywhere I looked there was a great shooting opportunities. Melissa & Kyle were awsome. The family was awsome. Everything came together just right. Can't wait to design an album for this one. Sit back and check out some of my favorites.
Glad we were by the beach today because it was HOT. Just like my bride. Scott & Sarah were married today at Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach. Lots of great images but these are a few of my favorites. Let's start out with a few shots of the dress.
And the sweet shoes.
Scott and Devon having a shave.
Not much to say here but WOW. Check out those eyes.
Simple cross process.
A little him and her.
Great day for some infra-red.
Oh yea we went to the beach too.
Hey Sara, come over here a second, I want to try a shot on the stairs. I think this works.
Scott and Sarah's son with the rings.
This was a great day. Great couple, beautiful location, nice families and amazing images. A great day.
Every now and then you just have one of those days.... in a good way. Crazy how things work out. I woke up that morning sick as a dog, the dreaded flu bug. Can't call in sick to a wedding. I have to say that this has to be one of my favorite weddings, definatly top 5 all time. Go figure. I just wanted to keep shooting and shooting. Every image seemed to be better than the last. Lisa was a knockout and Dana had the most genuine smile. They went perfect together and were fantastic in front of the camera. I want to give a big thanks to Erika of course and Penny Ryan of Pennyrella Weddings. This was my first wedding with Penny with hopefully more to follow. Sit back and relax because their are lots of images.
Hard to pick just one as my favorite, but this one is the winner.
This was one of the best weddings I have ever photographed. Why? Well, you see, Erika is my assistant and has beeen shooting with me for over 5 years now. We have been to so many wedding together all over the planet that it was a bit strange with her in front of the lens instaed of behind it. I think I was a bit nervous. Once we started shooting though everything was right back to normal and she was great model. The wedding was held at Ponte Family Wineryin Temecula. Big thanks to Marisa for second shooting with me. I really can't pick a fovorite as there are some really great images. Check out some of my favorites.
2 versions of the same image.
Great looking bridal party. 2 girls on the right are former clients.
Love this one.
Trying some new styles, Love It? Hate it?
I shot this little guys parents wedding a few years back.
Still can't put the camera down.
Thank you again for having me there for your wedding. I am so happy for the both you. Hurry back though, we have more weddings next weekend. :)
Last wedding of the year and what a way to go out. Jeff and Lauren were married this last weekend at Trump National in Palos Verdes. Major players were Mark Hix supplying the tunes, Enchanted Florist with the floral, and the fabulous coordinator Kimberley Bradford. No Donald sightings this time though. I got a ton of great stuff so sit back and enjoy a few of my favorites.
Well, it finally happened. Jen & Dale were married this past weekend at the Four Seasons in Santa Barbara. Jen first booked me in 2005 and we have been planning this special day ever since. I wanted to give a special thanks to Jill LaFleur for making sure everything ran so smooth. Lots of favorites his week hanks to the sweet light and awsome couple.
This was a spectacular wedding. Rachael & Craig were married at 7° in Laguna Beach. Special thanks to Trisha Haner from Hidden Garden for planning such a great day. Check out a few of my favorites.
This is my favorite.
Loved Craig's personality.
We've had quite a few weddings lately that the B&G have provided an In-N-Out truck for the guests. I think this is a great idea because, well, I love In-N-Out burgers
Shot a fun wedding today.Joe & Maribel were married this afternoon in downtown Pasadena with a great reception at Castle Green. Check out a few of my favorites.
Beautiful day to be along the coast. Joyce and Rich were married at a private estate in Malibu today. I'm liking this white tuxedo trend lately. This is my third groom so far this year.
Just a moment to put our feet up before the big event.
What a super cool wedding. Christian & Dana were married this past Saturday right on the beach in front of their house. We then had a great reception at Sam's Seafood in Seal Beach followed by a late night visit from the In-N-Out truck.
The boys on the way to the ceremony.
What a cute little munchkin.
I'll have a double-double, animal style with fries and a chocolate shake. Mmmmmm!!
I shot at a new location today. Casa Romantica in San Clemente. Had the usual allstars Kim Bradford, Alex from Elysium, and a rookie; Marisa. Today was Marisa's first big shoot with me and I have to say she did great. There are a lot of factors that contribute to how the photos come out. The location, weather, light, vibe of the crowd, bride and groom, mostly my mood when shooting. I never know beforehand what were gonna get. I think that's why I like my job. I felt a little different today.
All I can say is WOW!!! Awsome couple, great wedding, killer venue, and a flawless day. Shot Geno & Stephanie's wedding this past weekend at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Beach. First off, big thanks to Kevin Covey and his team for coordinating the perfect day. Also, thanks to Nisie of Enchanted Florist for the beautiful floral.
Well, actually just Danielle. I had so many favorites from this wedding I decided to just pick a few. Big thanks to Lisa Simpson for orginizing such a beautiful day.
Ok maybe just one of the guests. I like the little guys Mohawk
How about another knockout bride? Seems like all I get lately is beautiful brides. Maybe it's just extremely talented photographic skills. LOL Nope, just beautiful brides. We survived the melting heat this past weekend and shot some great images of the young bride and groom. Check em out.
This was the last wedding of my 3 in-a-row weekend. What a fantastic wedding. Started out in the morning at the Ritz in Pasadena then headed around town for some pix. I wanted to send a big thank you to Mistyka Garcia of Special Occasions Event Planning. The day was flawless and she helped put on a great wedding. I got lots of great stuff today so sit back and enjoy.
Frank came over to the Ritz before the wedding for a few photos and a preview of his gorgeous bride.
We then headed over Cal Tech for a few minutes.
Then over to my super secret back alley for some more shots. Thanks for the hookup Vic.
Finally over to the LA River Center for the ceremony and party.
I always like to finish with my favorite from the day. Rosie getting a big happy smooch from her dad.
This was a small wedding at the Laguna Cliffs Marriot and another flawless event hosted by Kimberley Bradford. This was also my coveted 7.7.7 wedding. the most sought after date in history. Anyway, here are a few of my favorites from the day.
This was a fantastic wedding. Just your typical beautiful beach girl marries local firefighter love story. I got so many great images it was hard to choose. So you just get to see all of them. Sit back and enjoy.
Love the infrared.
Love the legs.
Great group of guys.
A buddy of Keith's had this really cool old Woody that he brought down for us.
OK, first off I've been totally lame about keeping up with the blog lately. Things have been crazy busy especially with the 7.7.7 weekend. But I'm back and time for some pics.
Don & Shawne were married June 29 at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach. They are currently jet setting around the globe on a 6 week honeymoon. Whatever!! I'm jealous. Here are some of my favorites.
Another great wedding this weekend as the season is now in full swing. Wedding and reception took place at the Hacienda Hieghts Country Club. The day ran flawlessly as usual when Kim Bradford Events is on the scene. Well, here's some of my favorites from the day.
Let's start off by introducing the beautiful bride, Evienne.
And her soon to be husband, Andy.
Andy's son Damon.
Thanks to Nisie from Enchanted Florist for providing the beautiful flowers.
Shot a wonderful Persian wedding on Saturday. Kian & Heidi were married at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach. We started the day off around 10am at the barber shop for a shave and finished around 1 am wth the bouquet toss. Looong day! Check out some of my favorites.
I love the classic look of this shot. I could of shot Heidi all day long. Wait a minute, I did. Random munchkin shot.
I was really looking forward to this wedding. Christina had mentioned how she liked some of my "non-traditional' locations that I have shot my brides at in the past. Places like the old fort in San Francisco, the graffiti walls and back alleys of downtown Long Beach, and the street scenes in New Orleans. I love days when I just get to play. Check out some of my favorites.
We didn't spend the entire day on the tracks. I like the contrast of the red and white flowers.
These next two are in the hotel room.
Christina and the ladies just before the "I do's"
Loved the blue dresses with the orange flowers.
Drop the ISO to 100, crank the F-stop all the way up, steady hands and we get a spinning umbrella.
Playing with the new 85 1.4. Depth of field is so shallow on this lens. And yes Erika, it is called Bokeh .
Best man working on his speech.
We're married!
Check me out on the left side of the hubcap.
I like how Christina is framed by the painting behind her.
Munchkins are cute.
Back at the reception.
This looks like a good one to end on. Thanks to my buddy Victor for hooking me up with this sweet new action. Wow, that was a lot of images. I know you're tired of hearing about it but I love my new cameres.
Ok. time for the real test. This is the first wedding I did with the new Nikons, I have to say they performed flawlessly. Ralph & Agatha were married this past Saturday in Pasadena with a beautiful reception at the Westin. This was another fantastic event by Kim Bradford Events. I do a lot of weddings with Kim and it's always great knowing ahead of time that we are going to have a beautiful and flawless day.
Started early as Aggie got ready. Aggie looking at a picture of herself as a child.
One of my favorites of the day. Munchkins are so cute.
Love finding those little corners with interesting light.
Found some good light at the Westin. I love Aggies personality. She's kind of a smartass. We got along great. Nice job on the flowers. Always have to include a ring shot.
Erika & I photographed a great wedding out in Camarillo this Saturday. Started out early at the barber shop as Andrew and the boys got an old fashioned straight razor shave.
Erika hung out with the boys while I headed over to the girls house. Jessica's dress was ready to go. After hair and makeup, time for some beauty shots. And one of the bridesmaids. Throw in a little detail shot. Love this bouquet. Although I love the beauty shots, this is really Jessica's personality. Andrew and the boys seem to be ready. Check the tie, deep breath, and one for the road. The happy couple right after the ceremony. The room was beautiful and ready for a party. And they lived happily ever after.
Just could not get that stupid song out of head last week. Erica and I flew into Houston on Friday for a Saturday afternoon wedding. Cassie and Manny are the 3rd couple from a group of friends I've been shooting over the last few years. In 2003 we shot Chris and Alexis in San Juan Capistrano. This is from the Mission. Next was Chris & Gillian 2004 down in New Orleans. No we have Manny & Cassie, February 17, 2007 in the great city of Houston. It was fun to see all my old couples and see how they are doing. I love the challenge of a new location. It gets me all excited to see things for the first time. The church was located right across the street from Rice University so this was our setup. I don't know, I just like this one. Everyone was a great sport. It's about 40° during this shot. Little red was a handful, but she loved the camera. Cassie runs alot. So she has about 2% body fat. Not good for keeping warm. I on the other hand was very toasty. Better start the summer diet. LOL. If you get a second, check out Cassie's BLOG Random detail. Window light is the best. Underneath the great Sam Houston statue. Congratulations you guys. Have fun in Tahiti.
I got to shoot in one of my favorite cities this weekend. Bob & Wendy were married at the Old Federal Building in San Francisco this past Saturday. This was an amazing venue with lots of old San Francisco style. Wendy was the maid of honor at another wedding I shot in Monteray last New Years. I love it when the bride & groom trust me to do my thing. They looked at me kinda funny when I told them I wanted to shoot in an old fort down by the water. Here's the results.
Something alittle different for the bridal party.
After the pre wedding photo shoot we headed back to the Old Fed for some family shots and a few more pix of the bride & groom.
This is the inside of the Old Fed during the ceremony. Once the ceremony was complete, the chairs were cleared out and in came the tables. Nice cake. Yummy too. Can't be a wedding without some cute little munchkins running around. You know I love the details. These are the Bob's cufflinks that were originally his grandfathers. Another nice little detail to finish us off.
