This is a portrait of an Asian bride wearing traditional Indian wedding dress that we photographed in her room at the Creative portrait of Indian bride photographed at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa on her wedding day. in Huntington Beach California. This was a fusion wedding combining the traditions of my Indian groom with his Asian bride. Indian or South Asian weddings are typically some of the most colorful and energetic weddings that I photographed each year. I also like to incorporate old world style on some of my portraits to give them that classic weathered look of old India culture. Some of the key features of an Indian wedding are the Sangheet which is normally held a day or two before the actual wedding. The Ganesh Pooja which is a smaller ceremony that usually happens at the home of a relative, the Mehndi which is normally for the bride, her friends, and family members but is sometimes attended by the groom as well. This is also when the Henna is applied which is the detailed patterns that are drawn on the feet and hands. My favorite part of the day is the Baraat where the grown arise at the wedding riding atop a white horse or sometimes an elephant. He is usually accompanied by all his friends and family as well as musicians. And finally the ceremony which takes place under the Mandap.
